Our Turnmill range focuses on the natural features of European Oak.
We cleave this wood rather than saw it, which means the grain of the wood gets separated in a natural way.
As a result the surface of these boards is heavily textured and features a wavy surface, with open cracks and knots.
The boards are then finished by hand to enhance the natural patterns in the grain, whilst removing any sharper edges that arise within the rips and tears on the surface.
Our Turnmill copper is an engineered board with a reclaimed look. It is smoked and then finished with a hardwax oil.

Due to the nature of our turnmill product, please note that large knots can break up in the cleaving process, revealing the base underneath. These knots will be finished along with the board in the same colour hardwax oil. Most of these knots will blend in with the floor but some colours will make them stand out. We advise to allow enough wasteage when installing, so you can be selective with the pieces on site if required.
