Oak Turnmill Chestnut
Our Turnmill range highlights the natural features of European Oak, and is actually made from railway sleepers.
It is an engineered board with a reclaimed look, finished with a hardwax oil.
We cleave this wood rather than saw it, which means the grain of the wood gets separated in a natural way. The surface of these boards is heavily textured as a result, and features a wavy surface with open cracks and knots. The boards are then prepared by hand to further highlight the natural patterns in the grain, whilst removing any sharper edges that arise within the rips and tears on the surface.

Further Information
Due to the nature of our turnmill product, please note that large knots can break up in the cleaving process, revealing the base underneath. These knots will be finished along with the board in the same colour hardwax oil. Most of these knots will blend in with the floor but some colours will make them stand out. We advise to allow enough wastage when installing, so you can be selective with the pieces on site if required.
