Design Brief: The Project Architect was interested in a dramatic look in the entrance to the building, and in contrast, make the flats light, eary and modern.
Product Selected: The flooring selected for the main building entrance was Ecora Engineered North American Black Walnut, which was fitted on the floor, walls and ceilings to create a dramatic yet warm look. The flats where fitted with Ecora Oak Waterside White, in widths of 190mm and lengths of 1.9 meters. The grading on this product is Prime which allows for slight colour variation and low knot content in order to provide a clean uniformed look. Oak Waterside White is finished with a robust lacquer which provides a durable yet natural finish.
Architect Comments: “The American Black Walnut used for the floor, cladding and feature was great to work with and combined with the dramatic lighting and ceiling high image on the back wall provides a cheque yet natural entrance to the building. We are also extremely happy we chose the Oak Waterside White for the flats as they compliment the high gloss kitchens and overall contemporary look we where aiming for.”
